On the hypercompetition numbers of hypergraphs

چکیده
The competition hypergraph CH(D) of a digraph D is the hypergraph such that the vertex set is the same as D and e ⊆ V (D) is a hyperedge if and only if e contains at least 2 vertices and e coincides with the in-neighborhood of some vertex v in the digraph D. Any hypergraph H with sufficiently many isolated vertices is the competition hypergraph of an acyclic digraph. The hypercompetition number hk(H) of a hypergraph H is defined to be the smallest number of such isolated vertices. In this paper, we study the hypercompetition numbers of hypergraphs. First, we give two lower bounds for the hypercompetition numbers which hold for any hypergraphs. And then, by using these results, we give the exact hypercompetition numbers for some family of uniform hypergraphs. In particular, we give the exact value of the hypercompetition number of a connected graph.

On the hypercompetition numbers of hypergraphs with maximum degree at most two
In this note, we give an easy and short proof for the theorem by Park and Kim stating that the hypercompetition numbers of hypergraphs with maximum degree at most two is at most two.
متن کاملON THE NORMALITY OF t-CAYLEY HYPERGRAPHS OF ABELIAN GROUPS
A t-Cayley hypergraph X = t-Cay(G; S) is called normal for a finite group G, if the right regular representationR(G) of G is normal in the full automorphism group Aut(X) of X. In this paper, we investigate the normality of t-Cayley hypergraphs of abelian groups, where S < 4.
متن کامل2 Supply Chain Management and Hypercompetition
Firms nowadays face significant challenges in their operating environments, which have been characterised in two different ways. From a strategic management perspective these environments are in a state of hypercompetition while from a logistics or supply chain perspective these environments require market responsiveness predicated upon agile supply chains. However, firms must also rely on many...
متن کاملDirected domination in oriented hypergraphs
ErdH{o}s [On Sch"utte problem, Math. Gaz. 47 (1963)] proved that every tournament on $n$ vertices has a directed dominating set of at most $log (n+1)$ vertices, where $log$ is the logarithm to base $2$. He also showed that there is a tournament on $n$ vertices with no directed domination set of cardinality less than $log n - 2 log log n + 1$. This notion of directed domination number has been g...
متن کاملCATEGORY OF (POM)L-FUZZY GRAPHS AND HYPERGRAPHS
In this note by considering a complete lattice L, we define thenotion of an L-Fuzzy hyperrelation on a given non-empty set X. Then wedefine the concepts of (POM)L-Fuzzy graph, hypergraph and subhypergroupand obtain some related results. In particular we construct the categories ofthe above mentioned notions, and give a (full and faithful) functor form thecategory of (POM)L-Fuzzy subhypergroups ...
